October 2018: Tips, eNews & More!

It's a beautiful time of the year! Many Canadians spend too much time complaining about the weather! It's either too hot or too cold, but right now feels just right! It's the perfect time to go on long hikes and bike rides.

With the cooler weather, we also tend to turn to more hot drinks like specialty coffees, tea, and hot chocolate to keep warm. While these delicious caffeinated drinks can give you an extra energy boost on shorter days - and a warm feeling in your belly - they can also wreak havoc on your pearly whites! If your favourite autumn drinks are staining your teeth, contact us about teeth whitening options.

A friendly reminder that Halloween is just around the corner and falls on a Wednesday this year. That means ghosts and goblins will be out early and possibly during your commute home - so be extra careful as you drive through your neighbourhood. And don't forget to brush and floss after indulging in Halloween candy!

We wish you a great Thanksgiving and a fun-filled Halloween!

Have a safe and healthy month,

Dr. Steven Rosenblat and Team

Can Obstructive Sleep Apnea Kill You?

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?

You are likely hearing more about Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) as it is becoming more common and thanks to an increase in practitioners who are able to assist in the diagnosis. OSA can most easily be explained as the complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway during sleep, leading to decreased breathing or episodes of no breathing at all. This happens because muscle tissues around the throat relax during sleep, covering the airway.

Turmeric has many wonderful health benefits, this recipe incorporates it in a healthy sugar free and gluten free pumpkin spice cake recipe. The turmeric flavour is subtle and adds a warm earthiness which compliments the other more traditional fall spices in this recipe. Compliments of DatePasteRecipes.com
